Gardening
Angel Betty Pegen, was known as the
"Gardening Angel" of College Point. Betty watched over the
Poppenhusen Memorial for over 50 years. She tended the
gardens there as a volunteer until her 96th year. Betty
passed away in 2008, but the memory of her commitment to
volunteerism lives on.
